Mission

The Michigan Network for Children's Environmental Health is a coalition of health professionals, health-affected groups, environmental organizations, and others dedicated to a safe and less toxic world for Michigan's children. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we work to change current policies and practices that result in exposure of children to environmental toxicants.

Network Priorities

  • Engage a large number of health professionals, health-affected groups, environmentalists, and others around Michigan in advocacy opportunities through action alerts and other advocacy efforts.
  • Phase out toxic chemical in products made for use by children.
  • Phase out the pharmaceutical use of lindane in the state of Michigan.
  • Work toward reduction/elimination of persistent toxic chemicals in Michigan (these include lead, mercury, PCBs, brominated flame retardants, and other hazards to children in Michigan).
  • Advocate for a model state chemical regulatory system that better protects children’s health.
