Why do we need safe children's products legislation?

Too many children's products contain chemicals linked to serious health problems including cadmium, mercury, and toxic flame retardants. Exposure to even small amounts of a toxic chemical can impact a child's ability to reach his or her full potential. We are advocating for legislation that would give families the right to know about chemicals of highest concern in toys and other children's products.
