In Harm's Way: Toxic Threats to Child DevelopmentIn 2000, Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility released a peer-reviewed report called In Harm’s Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development, which addresses the impact of environmental chemicals on children’s neurological development. Clean and Green: Your Healthy Home and Family - A Guide to Avoiding Exposure to Toxic Chemicals in Your HomeThe LDA of Michigan's Healthy Children Project released this useful consumer guide in December 2007. Staff from the LDA, Clean Water Fund, and the Ecology Center contributed to this booklet.Toxic At Any SpeedThe Ecology Center also released a report, Toxic At Any Speed (pdf), which found significantly higher levels of PBDEs in vehicle dust and windshield wipe samples than those found in homes and offices in previous studies. PBDEs are associated with thyroid hormone disruption, learning and memory impairment, hearing problems, delayed onset of puberty, birth defects and cancer. Learn more. |
