The Price of Pollution: Cost Estimates of Environment-Related Childhood Disease in Michigan. A conservative estimate of annual costs for lead poisoning, asthma, cancer, and selected neurodevelopmental disabilities. Published in 2010 by the MNCEH and Ecology Center.

In its January/February 2010 issue, the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine published a survey of Michigan pediatricians documenting their knowledge and practice related to environmental issues. The pediatricians generally felt confident in dealing with lead and second-hand smoke, but felt less confident in identifying and managing pesticide, mercury, mold, polychlorinated biphenyl, and air pollution exposures. Hidden Hazards in the Nursery analyzed foam baby products, including car seats, changing pads, and nursing pillows, for toxic flame retardants, including chlorinated Tris." Eighty-five percent of the products tested contained toxic flame retardants. In October 2011, the state of California listed chlorinated tris as a carcinogen.

Poison in Paint, Toxics in Toys: an exclusive report on household products that contain two chemicals that wreak hormone havoc: NPEs (nonylphenol ethoxylates) and BPA (bisphenol A). Published in 2011 by Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, Safer States, and Maine's Environmental Health Strategy Center.
